Still run by the family that built the theater nearly five decades ago, Becky’s Drive-In Theatre in Pennsylvania is the real deal. The start time for movies is usually at dusk, and you can check their website a few days in advance to get exact showtimes. A new drive-in has just opened in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, offering "killer views of Manhattan's skyline" along with popular movie classics; not surprisingly, it’s called the Skyline Drive-In. Located at 1 Oak Street across the river from downtown Manhattan, the Skyline operates on a site that’s been used for shooting Fendi and Converse ads as well as the opening credits of Saturday Night Live. Unadilla Drive-In

Elmira Drive-in is operated by Zurich Cinemas and is located along 19 acres on Route 352, featuring one of the largest drive-in theater screens in New York State. In the early 2000s, a second film screen was added to the theater, along with upgraded Dolby Stereo surround sound for the theater’s FM transmitters. Major first-run family and blockbuster releases are shown, with ticket pricing available for adults and youth. A snack bar serves standard American diner fare, classic candies, popcorn, Icees, and Pepsi beverages. Elmira Drive-In Theatre

Overlook Drive-in is the closest drive-in theater to New York City, located approximately two hours from Manhattan in Poughkeepsie. The theater was opened in 1955 by Sidney and Ida Cohen and is the sister facility of the Hyde Park Drive-in. It features the largest outdoor film screen in the tri-state region, measuring as high as a six-story building, and offers accommodations for up to 750 cars. Hyde Park Drive In Theatre

Located in Dutchess County and perhaps the most modernized of area theaters, Four Brothers is like the Mall of America of drive-ins. Where most just have a radio frequency and simple concession stand, Four Brothers has electric car charging stations, a giant fire pit and lawn games, a park where dogs can run around, and an app where you can order food for delivery to your car. Many of these amenities have been put on hold to comply with social distancing, but you can still enjoy two movies each night at this state of the art theater. Finger Lakes Drive-in is New York State’s oldest operating drive-in movie theater, offering film showings seasonally in Auburn since 1947. Though the theater still uses a classic speaker system for film showings, FM radio transmission is available for in-car listening. El Rancho Drive-in is owned and operated by the proprietors of Broadalbin’s Ozoner 29 drive-in theater and has been showcasing films on its classic 60-by-90-foot screen since 1952.
