MileHigh andHungrywe’re not soaking up the sun today after that bit of snow, instead we’ll head to @french75_denver to soak our french dip in the au jus 🤤

What’s more French 🇫🇷 than this sando? Each thin slice of prime rib pile on to make this sandwich come alive. The hint of horseradish gives the contrast of creamy spice to the peppery crust on the meat. The star 🌟 though has to be the roll that soaks in all the juices.

The name can be a bit miss leading even with the classic preparations of duck and steak frites because the start of the dinner can be shumai and dumplings and the main course a buttery ramen bowl.

2. Stout Street Social
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungry🍣 GIVEAWAY 🍣 there’s no doubt this tasty tower came from Stout 💛! @stoutstsocial makes a bunch of sharable bites so the entire crowd can come hungry. We love the globally inspired menu being able to cater to every appetite from sushi to pulled pork sandwiches—they do it all!

This fun mash up features the essentials of a poke bowl with spicy tuna and crab salad a top rice but instead of chop sticks, we’ll stick to scooping it up with the paper thin wonton chips. It’s almost like nachos!

3. Giordano's Pizza
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungrystring are definitely attached… of mozzarella 🧀 that is! @giordanoscolorado is pulling out a win for this epic cheese pull. We expect nothing less from chicago style deep dish! The ratio of cheese being way more than crust is a must for us.

Since @giordanospizza didn’t think Denver had enough deep dishes to dish out, they have three spots around town—the newest on broadway—to see this magic on each table.

The crisp edges of deep dish has a cracker feel like a new york style but the bottom is a pillowy doughy bite that’s strong enough to hold all that comes on top.

Each pie might look the same with tangy tomato sauce to cut through it all, but beneath hides an array of toppings that make their slices special. From Italian sausage that grazes ever chicago style restaurant—maybe next will be italian beer 🤤 for a fun switch they sub the red sauce for the sweet heat of bbq sauce in their chicken, bacon and balsamic onion pizza.

4. Motomaki
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungryour favorite way to roll into the weekend has to be with @motomaki.colorado ‘s over the top sushi roll—the sushi burrito 🌯 this is one mega maki!

We’ve gotten poke bowls or sushi rolls have a home at a ton of restaurants in town, but this mash up lives on 16th street!

Each of their bowls can be ready to roll into a burrito. The hawaiian salmon has a bit of surf and turf to it with salmon coated in poke sauce and paired with crispy strips of bacon 🥓 if that wasn’t enough crunchy, most of their combos come with crispy pops of tempura pieces too. We need the hint of freshness to bright up this big bite, their slaw or carrots always do the trick.

Just like our burrito order, we need to add avocado and they already have us covered. Rather than heat 🌶 from salsa, the sriracha aioli is drizzles throughout.

Instead of cooked steak, their thinly grilled beef tastes like a bibimbop bowl with kimchi, bean sprouts and some jalapeño dressing to finish it off!

After excited waiting for this spot to reopen, they’ve brought our favorite weekend activity with it: B R U N C H. From the easy going greats to the upscale bites that match a good mimosas. We’re covered by @corinnedenver.

These fluffy buttermilk pancakes get glammed up with a splash of bourbon in the maple syrup—as if the mimosas right next to it wasn’t enough. The crunchy pecans hang with the sticky syrup to be like a makeshift nut brittle!

We got a taste of savory french toast by digging into the croque madame. This indulgent take on a ham and cheese is 10x the sandwich we know. It has thick pieces of ham like it’s carved for the holidays and a runny cheese sauce. It’s open faced to see the shining egg yolk on top. It all sots on a buttery brioche slice.

PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungryit might be #nationalfriedchickenday but we are digging into the other fried favorites from @corinnedenver now that they are back open! French fries 🍟 or “frites” with steak and their crab 🦀 croquettes are always making the menu.

@corinnedenver is ready to welcome us and Denver back for more innovative favorites. We like the range in the menu to cater to all that we crave.

Their crab croquettes remind us of a crab cake but with a better crunch around the outside and huge chunks of crab that’s stuffing the inside. A salty, buttery start, what’s better?

Back on land, they have their version of the fries—these frites aren’t steak fries or british chips—instead these are thin enough to stay crispy when soaking up the steak juices drool. We also like the added earthy freshness from the chimichurri on top. It brings in the greats of any herb garden.

7. 5280 Burger Bar
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungrywe’re SLIDING into the fourth of july weekend with the two best: sliders and fries from @5280burgerbar 🍔 🍟 🇺🇸

This weekend is gonna be loaded with gassing up the grill, so we thought we’d let @5280burgerbar take over for the first night 😁

We love getting 2 two order! It’s like getting a pizza with half and half toppings. They’ll make sliders out of their normal burger size for us to eat more of them menu. We couldn’t say no to guac on a burger and the other had a bacon jam 😮
•
But it’s fryday so we went with their queso fries to start! It’a basically like nachos but with fries rather than chips!

8. Palace Arms at the Brown Palace
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungrymake no mis-STEAK this isn’t the average meat and potatoes meal 🥩 🥔 @palacearms just reopened their doors in the @brownpalace to welcome food fans and french historians alike.

With their restaurant paying homage to napoleon (not dynamite) bonaparte—it might as well be a museum with french cavalry mementos covering the walls. The royal welcome is in order and food deserves a crown for topping off the night.

New @chefmoyle kept the integrity if the historic @brownpalace and made sure that farm to table fare was served as much as possible. Their rotating menu caters to the season and highlights local ranchers from Finch Farm and growers from Mystic Mountain Mushroom Farm.

Ribeye cap is the king cut or “butchers butter”, they caramelize the exterior but keep the rare pink center. Simply paired with vegetables and a rich demi.
•
Their mashed potatoes are smooth, like a puree and blend with the cheese effortlessly into one creamy bite. A crackling top conceals the inner lava of potato, it’s like breaking into a souffle.

We can’t wait to see how the menu evolves, just like the @palacearms and @brownpalace as they have been around for more than a century!
