Sarah FriggieriWhen I was young, I had heaps of guy mates but very few female friends. I thought that would never change, and now I'm surrounded by strong, supportive women, and I feel so damn lucky 💖
I caught up with one of them for brunch this week: @tatyanaleonov. She is fierce AF. Most people will look at her and think everything has just fallen into her lap – that life has never let her down. I'm one of the privileged few who knows this is far from true. I'm not going to go into it – it's not my story to tell – but I will share something she's been quite open about lately.
Her daughter Millie has been diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome. Thanks to a revolutionary medical trial, there's a chance for Millie to live what we would call a "normal" life – but they need to relocate overseas to take part in it.
So, if you can spare any change, please donate to their worthy cause. Being involved in this trial will not just help this one wonderful family, it will also contribute to knowledge that will help others all over the world with this rare disease 💜

PEOPLE ARE SAYING:Sarah FriggieriThis may look like a delicious, innocent pizza, but it gave me my worst-ever gluten attack last night 😭
To all restaurateurs, please, please, PLEASE don't have 'GF' on the menu if there's no guarantee it'll be gluten-free! For example, do not offer gluten-free pizza bases if the pizza toppings aren't gluten-free.
I don't even know what happened last night; how it all went wrong. Before ordering, I asked if the ham was gluten-free (because some aren't). The woman serving me said yes. My intestines later confirmed otherwise. I didn't ask about the pineapple, cheese or tomato paste, as I've never come across any gluten-filled versions of these. I requested the gluten-free base and I'm sure it was (it had the rough texture instead of the soft, fluffy one).
I will never again return to @penrithgolfclub. So disappointed.
I wish coeliac disease was taken more seriously.

PEOPLE ARE SAYING:Sarah FriggieriThis is my fifth attempt at writing this post. I've been editing it for just over an hour now, with the Supercars on in the background, my boyfriend Ben beside me and my furbaby on my lap 🐶💙 As always, I've been writing from my heart, but today I'm afraid of offending those of you who are traditional mums.
But all of this thinking is doing my head in, so I just need to stop second-guessing myself and just go for a full-on overshare.
I was married for seven years (in fact, this coming Tuesday would've been our eight-year anniversary). My husband always knew he wanted kids, but I was unsure. I knew that as a woman it was what was expected of me, but I am – and always have been – a career woman. I believe it's impossible to excel at being a loving mother, a doting wife and a dedicated worker – something would need to take a hit; I love working and I loved being a wife, so you do the math.
Thankfully, my family is very supportive of my big life decision; I got a 'Happy Mother's Day from everyone (including Ben's mum) and even a couple of gifts! They maintain that I would be a GREAT mum (and, if I'm being honest with myself, I know I would too). But I just use that as a driving force to instead be an AMAZING aunty.
In the second photo, you'll e-meet my precious nieces, Mila and Olivia 💗💗 I moved to the suburbs to be closer to them while they grew up (I often joke that I'll be home when they fight with their mums and need a place to stay while the dust settles, and that when they turn 18 we'll hit the clubs and I'll hold their hair back when they inevitably drink too much 😆).
In the third photo is four generations of la famiglia: my mum, my nanna, my sister and her daughter. I have so much love for my family – I can't even explain it in words ❤
So, here's to all the mums: the stepmums, the not-yet mums, the should-be mums, the aunty mums, the foster mums, the furbaby mums, and those without their mums.
