PEOPLE ARE SAYING:
We decided to go off our main script and ordered some different items tonight — Gang Om, a green curry broth with vegetables (including green Thai globe eggplant), and beef. It doesn’t have coconut milk in it, and it’s pretty spicy with a very prominent fish sauce flavor (I dunno, did someone point at me and say, “THAT’S the guy!”). It’s different; Rachel didn’t love it; it took me a while to take a liking to it.
We also tried the Bamee Pu-Moo Daeng. This is a dry noodle soup; it’s got roast pork and crab in it with a small amount of fried garlic. It’s tasty, but I would say that without additional condiments, it is a very lightly flavored dish compared to the other things made here. We asked the server why it was so comparatively bland, and she said that Thai customers like to add chile oil and stuff. They don’t bring those condiments by default. So if you order this dish, TELL THEM to get condiments. I’m going to bring some of what’s left home and add some chili garlic crisp to it.
The restaurant is extremely understaffed now (they warned us) so be very patient on the orders, everyone seems to want an outdoor table and they moved several tables outside.
