Moe's Broadway Bagels commissioned the Flock of Bagels AR sculpture. Augmented. City and XR Masters made the GeoPose-based AR possible. Music by Antonello Arciuli. Artist/Producer: Stephen Black
Here you can see the Flock of Bagels. First you need to download the free XR Masters browser. There is a an iPhone version and sn Android version . When it asks you to localize , you should be about 100 feet away from the towers on the Manhattan side. Meaning that Manhattan is behind the towers.
At 1040 Metropolitan Avenue, you will find the ICSP, the International Studio & Curatorial Program. Walk past this and turn right. At the very end is the loading dock. Be careful! And there will probably be no-one there. And if there is someone there, they probably will have no idea about what you are talking about.
SO… in regards to GeoPose AR, this is where the historic Snake Lighter AR artworks where installed, from September 18 - 26, 2021.
Snake Lighter was a collaboration between Daniel Bainbridge and Stephen Black. Daniel is an established New York based sculptor and visual artist. Stephen is a writer, producer and artist. He also is the the first spatial cinema artist designated by the Open Augmented Reality Cloud (OARC).
Bubiko Foodtour, The character Stephen co-created with Sayuri Okayama, is a pioneering force in the world of location-based AR. https://www.instagram.com/bubikofoodtour
Technical support was provided by:
XR Masters https://xr-masters.com
Snake Lighter was the first GeoPose AR fine art installation to take place in the United States, possibly the world.
Although some of the digital objects are still in place, the artists deconstructed the original installation. Images from the opening night of Snake Lighter can be seen here: https://www.blacksteps.tv/snake-lighter-opening-night/
Snake Lighter was part of Bushwick Open Studios, and was made possible because of the technical support of XR Masters, Augmented.City and Novaby.
A great Irish bar AND a source for soda bread and scones. "Source" because the scones and soda bread can only ordered online. Here testing has started for an AR soda bread exhibition. The exhibition is called Soda Bread in Time and Space, and it originated in the Irish Cultural Museum of New Orleans.
To learn about the amazingly good stuff that goes on at Mary's, watch this video, Humans of New York on ABC: https://abcnews.go.com/WNT/video/york-city-pub-owner-makes-meals-front-line-80198366?fbclid=IwAR2UDpP_kY1sU_fNkDlF3MQbMBjP9df0ooR5YzswCf0lUFPMt8uaU7ErgGg
To learn about Making Soda Bread in Time and Space:
Eventually, hopefully... this will be an AR showcase coffee and kuehs by Lady Wong https://www.instagram.com/ladywong.co/?hl=en.
For now you can see some tests with Bubiko and soda bread. This is probably the best coffee in the area, if not all of Manhattan.

PEOPLE ARE SAYING:
No AR here yet, but this is place is both dynamic and peaceful, a great place to stroll or read or sit or picnic.
The White Stripes band shot a video here called The Hardest Button to Button. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4dx42YzQCE
The White Stripes also made a video called Fell In Love With a Girl that was made with Legos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTH71AAxXmM
Both videos were directed by Michel Gondry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Mpw4eg2K4E
So.. what is being planned is this: The Hardest Girlfriend to Button. THGTB will use AR to create a video mashup: Kego versions of the White Stripes recreating the video of The Hardest Button to Button in the same locations here near Riverside Drive.
Also, the same AR Lego sequences will be seen at the Third Man stores in Detroit, Nashville and London. Third man Records are owned by Jack White.https://thirdmanrecords.com/locations/detroit-storefront
As we are still just a poor little AR startup, we will have to crowdfund this or see if we can work something out with Jack White....
The motion design would be created by the legendary Pfeffer MotionDesign .https://www.pfeffermotiondesign.de/#nav1501247655
Localization may be tricky to do, but I am sure you will find it!
This AR experience was created as a way to publicize the Brooklyn BagelFest, by using the Flock of Bagels AR sculpture commissioned by Moe's Broadway Bagels.

Dylan Manna is a tour de force; a musician, gallery owner and much more.
I met him by chance immediately after arriving in New York to start my AR tour/book project. Not just met him, but videos him singing on the subway! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJ46bmxChsM
The AR localization point is the pipe the back corner.
Hopefully you will be able to experience one of Dylan's famed Sunday gatherings.

PEOPLE ARE SAYING:
Here there is another historic use of GeoPose AR. In September 2021, Stephen Black began testing the use of video+AR in an outdoor public space.(His previous testing was for the soda bread exhibition at the Irish Cultural Museum of New Orleans.)
The video chosen for testing was from documentation of Generator (Pestilence Part 1), an experimental multimedia look at the AIDS epidemic, which was performed in February and March of 2020. Jack Waters snd Peter Cramer are the two strong willed snd spirited individuals responsible for both Generator and Les Petit Versailles. They are legends for their contributions to the Lower East Side arts community.
This installation requires an app from Augmented.City. At the time of this writing, the app is available only upon request. To receive the app, contact Stephen Black through the Book Merah Twitter account.

This installation was made possible by the generous technical support of Augmented.City
and the OARC, the Open Augmented Reality Cloud
The Pizza School does not sell pizza. They are located right next to Kossar's Bagels, where there is a Flock of Bagels.
This area is a nice one to explore and there are plenty of surprises, like the Basic Necessities Mural at 398 Broome Street and the Clayton Gallery/Outlaw Museum.
The pizzas in the AR photos were photographed at The Pizza Garage, in Boulder Colorado. https://www.thepizzagarage.com
