MileHigh andHungrysince there wasn’t a lot of sun today, we went to @solcocina to brighten up our day ☀️ this Baja Mexican kitchen makes more than just tacos and burritos — even though those are stellar. Their dinner plates have spice and soul of coastal Baja Mexican cuisine that we can’t wait to head back for more.

An obvious start has to be the guacamole 🥑 but they have two rendition to dip into. The sol style has fruitiness from mango and creaminess from goat cheese. While the granda features pops from pomegranate seeds, tartness from green apples and topped with spiced nuts.

They do fried calamari with a cali twist with a crisp coconut exterior. Their crispy tacitos are the perfect crispiness and filled with a combination of shrimp and creamy cheese.

Even thought it’s not grilling season, their carne asada tastes like summers in the backyard. There’s a nice sear coating the waygu steak but the inside remains medium rare and ready to devour.

2. The Saucy Noodle
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungryhow is it pasta-bly 2022? Something even crazier, @thesaucynoodle has been around for over 55 years 🎉 it might be early in the year but we’re already getting lost in their sauce.

The Alfredo is as creamy as it is dreamy. Even though our grandmas aren’t back there cooking it sure feels like it.

There’s no fuss, just comfort and flavor whether its their spaghetti with meatballs or one of their hand stretched pizzas we’re here for it all. Maybe we’ll get the chicken parm next 🐔 🤤

PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungryIt’s time to toasty up, with all this snow on the ground ❄️ the fireplace works well but we like to think that the french toast from @tupelohoneycafe is better! What has you heating 🔥 up these day?

Each caramelized piece of toast has a hint of cinnamon to act as another layer of worth with it’s touch of spice. The crisp exterior is a nice counter to the soft inside the soaked up all the custard.

The blueberry compote on top is vibrant and has us wanting the fresh fruits of summer to come quicker! 🫐
4. Daughter Thai Kitchen and Bar
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungry🎶 pour it up pour it up 🎶 @ririgalbadd can belt it out but @daughterthaikitchenandbar has a Mae Sai Khao Soi pour table side that can’t be beat. It has a rich curry base, fall off the bone short rib and a duo of soft and crispy noodles.

We love @daughterthaikitchenandbar addition to the denver food scene with their authentic take on thai and south east asian flavors. Pad thai is most commonly known but we went beyond the bounds of that to find their soulful dishes.

They have a duck 🦆 curry that has a bolder flavor than just a normal stewed curry. The ah-dee cha cha is for the seafood fans in us as a medley of lobster 🦞 , shrimp 🦐 and calamari 🦑

5. Etc. Eatery
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungrywow we might have found the most wicked wings of the west 🍗 @etc.eatery.denver ‘s menu said chicken wings but these could be mistaken for turkey. A menu meant to encompass worldly eats does just that! It can be hard to pick what to get — but that’s why the @wadjuthink app is so helpful! It rates each dish individually so you know what’s the dish to dig into 😋

@etc.eatery.denver is all dressed up for the holidays so it’s no wonder their chicken wings are looking their best — after a nice bath in buffalo sauce. Pivot from this bar bite and go for their homemade pasta 🍝 ! Bolognese or beef stroganoff. Not in the mood — their mexican style of ceviche is tomato based and is a fresh version of a cocktail with onions, cilantro, and avocado!
