SO MANY SOUP DUMPLINGS! These Soup Dumplings (Xiao Long Bao; 小籠包 ) were so good! This was a feast indeed! When you have so many choices and cannot choose, you get EVERYTHING to try! We got 2 orders of the Lucky Six Soup Dumplings & 1 order of the Three Treasure Soup Dumplings. Each contained the following:
Lucky Six: Pork, Crab & Pork, Truffle & Pork, Chicken, Scallop & Pork, and Gourd Luffa & Shrimp with Pork
Three Treasures: Ham & Pork, Sea Cucumber & Pork, and Abalone & Pork
There were so many good ones! I personally liked a bunch of the pork options, with Truffle Pork being my top pick! You definitely cannot go wrong with a classic signature Pork Xiao Long Bao from here though!
Till I come back again! 😁

This Dry-Aged Steak Burger HIT THE SPOT! You get it with that American cheese, and kimchi mayo! Oh man I want to come back right away again! Chef Jae Lee does a great job incorporating Korean flair on the menu items here! Do yourself a favor and go visit this establishment and try some of their dishes! I want to try more items, but I will always be tempted to just get that burger again!
With the temperatures being to drop (it is already autumn), hot pot season is starting up! With outdoor seating still the option for eating-out in NYC, Haidilao does a good job creating a nice space which also protects us from the weather and windiness! I feasted on a ton of their hot pot items (and yes I did get a lot of beef here!) and left very full and satisfied! I really enjoyed their spicy pork broth as I was dipping all my meat and vegetables in there. As a note, they provide all the food in to-go containers when they bring it to your table to promote safety. At this time, you order the sauces on your own as well since they do not have the self-serve area available. I feel they are doing the best they can during these tough times!
I finally got to try these Filipino-style doughnuts! And OMG they did not disappoint! @kimberlymcamara & @__keviar began putting them up for sale on their product IG page every Monday at 3pm recently and I was able to get an order in before they sold out in less than 1 minute. They supply cannot keep up with the huge demand! I got all this week's types, which include the following: Halo-Halo, Ube, Leche Flan Ni Lola, "Churron", & Keso! My top two favorites from this batch were by far the Halo-Halo and Ube. Take a look at that first pick with the Halo-Halo filling! I took a perfect bite! They can deliver through different parts of Queens and otherwise, you have to pick them up on Fridays! As a Filipino myself, I can taste my culture in every bite of these!
When walking around hungry in Flushing, one item to get is definitely noodles! These egg noodles were great, shown with wontons and dumplings! I also asked for Beef Stew which was given to me on the side. They had forgotten the beef initially, but then gave me a nice helping of it when I followed-up so I did not mind! Maxi's is kinda outside the main populated area and currently they have some outdoor seating. Check them out for your noodle cravings!
I was walking by here and had a craving for some donuts. I was feeling for something of the chewy variety so I opted for these mochi donuts! Shown here are the Brûlée and Matcha Mochi Donuts! I really do like the sweets here and the offerings keep me coming back!

Look at this seafood paella called Arroz con Mariscos!
It is a Peruvian style paella with tons of seafood like scallops, octopus, clams, mussels, shrimp, and calamari in red sauce with salsa criolla. This hit the spot and it is definitely a dish to share, it was a good amount of food!
I typically like coming here since they have a lot of seating inside for a prime location in Manhattan. Waits are not typically too long for smaller parties. Make sure you check it out!
I was hungry, so I got that Zurutto DELUXE Ramen!
It is getting colder so ramen season is in full swing. This offering has a little of everything using a chicken broth base that is prepared for up to 8 hours, with chashu pork, black garlic oil, boiled egg, and other veggies! The broth tasted great and was slurp worthy!
The interior is great too, as you feel that you have been transported to Japan. I would definitely come back again when I am in the area!
I am back again, and will promise again to post more!
Anyways, to welcome myself back, here is a Thai take on Hainan Chicken Rice that I thought was tasty! You are also able to get larger portions for 2 or 3 people as well!
The set comes with rice (I liked their Ginger Rice!) along with pieces of chicken innards liver and gizzard, and soup. I was hungry and destroyed this whole dish!
Note that this is a small place and it is CASH ONLY. However, they opened another spot a few stores down that has more colorful interior and additional seating!
What is inside this cream puff?!? Ube!! So I will let you know though that I felt this was not too too sweet, which I did prefer and at the same time, it was actually pretty heavy. I would definitely try to take this and share it with someone unless you are really looking for a nicely sized dessert. The ube flavor honestly is not super strong either, but enough for me to come back and get it again!
This bowl here is the Spicy Hamachi Chirashi! I enjoyed the spice on this dish and the combination of flavors worked well. It was a nice little bowl to have that was prepared quickly for someone who needed to get to a place quick.. but wanted a nice meal!
This nice little dessert is called the Mochi Mochi! The mochi on it are Warabimochi, Shiratamamochi. Oh and look, there is Hojicha ice cream on it too! A good-looking presentation and the deliciousness is there to back it up!
Lookie here, it;s their Matcha TIra "Masu"! I was actually pretty impressed with the dish overall. You have the matcha powder on top which gives it the matcha flavor with some bitterness to it, the right amount in my opinion. And then underneath you got that layer of mascarpone and cake! Sneak some red bean paste in there too and it was a winner for me!
Detroit style pizza is a style that has a thick crisp crust, which differentiates it from other types. This establishment makes a pretty good option! Their pizzas are all personal pan style which split up to 4 slices so there is no middle slice you get without a crust! As you can tell this is the pepperoni pizza and boyyyyyy look at those crisp pepperonis on it! They have many other flavors that I definitely will come back to for and try!
I know.. I know, I disappeared again without a reason. but I am back again! Life has been busy yet again, but I am pretty sure I got everything all situated so I will be back to regularly posting what I do best, food! I have a huge backlog I will go through, so many random posts will be coming! Here is a delicious mushroom pizza that has a nice crispy taste, as it is Detroit-style! One of my faves here!
This establishment has an interesting take on Korean/Asian fusion with tapas. I had this truffle mac and cheese and while it looks small, it packed a punch with its flavor! It is definitely one of the dishes I would recommended to get! Be prepared for a wait though, so if anything, try to get there before it opens!
These Pastéis de nata are my favorite type of egg tart! I feel these hard the right type of sweetness and it is a good alternative to going all the way to Portugal for some! The staff at the establishment was very nice and these egg tarts were made fresh! They were piping hot right and went straight to my plate. Oh and do not forget to have that cinnamon on it!
This dish right here is the Wagyu Beef Carpaccio. The beef is on the bottom and it is covered with a puffed wild rice, black garlic creme fraiche, and truffle! It had a nice combination of flavors and was not expecting the dish to look like this! Soooo good though!
This ramen bowl is called the "New Tokyo Style Shoyu Ramen"! It is a chicken based broth with a hint of truffle! I actually have not been here since this establishment first opened and I'm glad it is still alive and kicking. They definitely serve a good bowl of ramen here. The broth is light and that allowed me to slurp this entire bowl clean!
So I was finally able to try their Salty Chocolate Chess Pie for the first time, and wow, this is one delicious slice! Getting it with vanilla ice cream definitely balances that salty and sweet taste I was expecting to have. The ice cream helped complement the pie to have the taste of dish overall less overwhelming!
Fortunately I decided to get their cod special here! It was nicely cooked and came with some delicious risotto. I was craving some risotto and the fact I got some delicious cod with it was a win for me! Yummy!
When you got that Korean BBQ beef on the grill, the smell makes it sooo tempting for me to eat before the meat is actually ready! Patience is a virtue here. I cannot rush the perfection of the grilling that is occurring here!
