MileHigh andHungrywe’re looking forward to it getting hot in here 🔥 but since we know there’s a lot of snow to come first, we’ll head to @leajaneshotchicken to feel the heat.

We remember when they were just a stand at @avantifandb but now they’ve got a whole restaurant to themselves. We’ll always go for a dunk in their garlicy ranch when we get the round of wings.

But next time around we’re going for their play on chicken and waffles — chicken nuggets in a waffle cone 🤯

2. Bohemian Biergarten
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungrythis garden is one that doesn’t just do well in the summer 🌸 @bohemian.biergarten features comforting dishes to get us through the winter as we wait for the spring sunshine ☀️

There’s (g)no way we’re going to weather tonights storm with out a bowl of their gnocci! These big potato pillows are so tender but have a nice crispy outside for some ✨ texture ✨ They do this german classic justice!

For another cheesy choice the spaetzle hits the spot. It’s a german version of mac and cheese. Instead of settling for the average elbows, they make their spaetzle in house as an italian would making pasta.

3. The Noshery
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungrywhat’s sweeter than the weekend? Honestly, anything and everything 🍩 🍰 🧁 from the Noshery Cafe! This little spot in Berkeley goes above and beyond with a husband and wife operating it at its core.

Even though their treats — macarons, custom cakes and cinnamon rolls — are supreme 😋 it’s a full cafe with breakfast and lunch served up. The cinnamon spiced pancakes 🥞 are superior to any cinnamon roll — try it and tell us we’re right. But the breakfast quesadilla brings all the best of a breakfast taco but with a terrific cheese pull 🧀

4. The Saucy Noodle
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungryhow is it pasta-bly 2022? Something even crazier, @thesaucynoodle has been around for over 55 years 🎉 it might be early in the year but we’re already getting lost in their sauce.

The Alfredo is as creamy as it is dreamy. Even though our grandmas aren’t back there cooking it sure feels like it.

There’s no fuss, just comfort and flavor whether its their spaghetti with meatballs or one of their hand stretched pizzas we’re here for it all. Maybe we’ll get the chicken parm next 🐔 🤤

5. Sugarfire Smoke House
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungrywe are ready to attack the new year and that starts with some mac 🧀 but we’re not settling for microwave or even stove top, instead we love the bites from @sugarfirewesty !

These fried nuggets taste like the top layer of bread crumb covered oven baked mac and cheese. It has the texture we want on the outside for serious crunch but the inside still have that velvety cheesiness to it 🤤

These are a staple on the menu but their daily specials are no joke! Whether it their weekends filled with trying to fit every element from the breakfast table and bbq pit onto a brunch sandwich or jazzing up an a comfort dish like chicken pot pie or burritos.

6. Tupelo Honey
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungryIt’s time to toasty up, with all this snow on the ground ❄️ the fireplace works well but we like to think that the french toast from @tupelohoneycafe is better! What has you heating 🔥 up these day?

Each caramelized piece of toast has a hint of cinnamon to act as another layer of worth with it’s touch of spice. The crisp exterior is a nice counter to the soft inside the soaked up all the custard.

The blueberry compote on top is vibrant and has us wanting the fresh fruits of summer to come quicker! 🫐
7. Society Sports and Spirits
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungrydon’t be a couch potato 🥔 during game day! Especially with all the fun bars around Denver, we can’t help but grab a bite and drink before kick off 🏈 @society_sports has just enough loaded tots and tv’s to last us all day. With Empire Stadium just a mile away, we’re always rooting for the @broncos but once one game ends we’ll get out fix with another one.

When we think of Super Bowl worthy bites, it’s no doubt that french fries and nachos are heavy hitters. The saltiness of crisp fries or the mix of texture and flavor with a perfectly piled tortilla chip, really can’t be beat. But the loaded tots at @society_sports are going for the 2 point conversion with this one and leave us celebrating in the end zone. The bottom layer are the fried tater tots that have the soft interior. The outer layer is crisp enough to stand up to the heavy sprinkling of cheese and bacon bites. From there, lettuce, tomato, and onion give it the extra bit of zest to brighten this big dish.

You BET they’ll be making more appearances on our game day. If we’re really feeling lucky, we might have to use @tipico to score more than just a nice plate of food. @society_sports is just one spot welcoming in @broncos buffs to enjoy drink and food specials.

8. Avanti Food & Beverage, Boulder
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungrywhen people ask us what do we spend all our money 💰 on, all we can say is gauc 🥑 that and now @vacagordobbq the newest stand at @avantifandb and the dream child from our friends at @smok_denver

Being a huge fan of the cue at @smok_denver , we’ve seen them incorporate aspects of Latin American cuisine for sometime — chimichangas and birria 🤤 So now, they have decided this spot to be the go to for some mexican barbecue fusion.

These barbecue chicken quesadillas have the iconic smokiness of @smok_denver meats but also the smokiness in chilis 🌶. The deep barbecue sauce’s spice get’s the nice cooling of crema like dipping buffalo wings in ranch.

The two big hitters of Mexican food 🌮 and Barbecue 🍖 come together in their brisket tacos. A slab of tender brisket and all it’s juiciness find a home on their homemade tortillas!

9. Good Company Restaurant & Bar
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungryWe have a 🧀 MOZZ 🧀 do for @broncos game day 🏈 Spend it at @goodcompanybar719 down in Colorado Springs because their bar bites are the best for halftime and the drink specials are the ultimate touchdown! Their specials ⚡️ are going down from 2:30-4:30 😱

You bet mozzarella sticks are our go to game day food! But we might be betting on more with our friends at @tipico. We can’t always make the game at empower stadium so we love spending game day at local bars with tons of tvs blasting the game.

PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungrywow we might have found the most wicked wings of the west 🍗 @etc.eatery.denver ‘s menu said chicken wings but these could be mistaken for turkey. A menu meant to encompass worldly eats does just that! It can be hard to pick what to get — but that’s why the @wadjuthink app is so helpful! It rates each dish individually so you know what’s the dish to dig into 😋

@etc.eatery.denver is all dressed up for the holidays so it’s no wonder their chicken wings are looking their best — after a nice bath in buffalo sauce. Pivot from this bar bite and go for their homemade pasta 🍝 ! Bolognese or beef stroganoff. Not in the mood — their mexican style of ceviche is tomato based and is a fresh version of a cocktail with onions, cilantro, and avocado!

11. Wynkoop Brewing Co.
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungrywe can’t budge on this burger 🍔 it’s too good 🤤 @wynkoopbrew updated their menu to heart warming dishes to kick out the cold 🥶 the diverse menu gives us all types of comfort food to choose from!

Their downstairs brewery is a draw for a nice beer, but their menu highlights their brews and even utilizes them 🍻 instead of the safe choice of pairing clams with wine, the sub it for a nice ale. From bar bites to elevated dining, we experienced it all. A bubbling bowl of spinach artichoke dip is a can’t miss, but the panzanella salad has a nice crisp crouton with a bright sun dried tomatoes to top it.

This pineapple burger proves sweetness belongs on a burger rather than a pizza slice. The heat from the sriracha honey almost candies the slabs of bacon. It’s all layered on a juicy patty, we’re not mad.

12. Avelina
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:MileHigh andHungry@avelinadenver has meat 🥩 that’s hard to beat 🥊! @chefoakley has a tasting menu to add to your queue that’s the best way to explore his menu. His seasonal menu alway has little surprises that keep us excited for what’s next. Awarded as a Colorado 5 chef, he does his title justice.

This NY strip has the nuttiness of browned butter. The bison ribs has a sticky spicy gochujang glaze to bring some of Colorado to this asian style preparation. The fish curry has a contemporary look with the entire bass flash fried and appearing as if it swim to the table.
