PEOPLE ARE SAYING:
The Bainbridge Island Historical Museum comprises a 1908 schoolhouse, home to long term exhibits, and an annex building housing our extensive research library, office space, amenities and a rotating exhibit gallery. An atrium lobby, gift shop and reception desk joins the one-room schoolhouse to our modern annex building.
Foss Waterway Seaport uses our historic 117-year old Balfour Dock Building, docks and adjacent areas as a public facility, to celebrate the rich maritime history of the Tacoma community and the region through interpretation, education, and events that tell the stories of our collective past, present and future.
The Sidney Museum and Arts Association, a nonprofit organization founded in 1970, is dedicated to preserving local history and promoting arts. SMAA established and maintains the Sidney Art Gallery and the Sidney Museum located in the original Masonic Hall built in 1908 and the Log Cabin Museum built in 1914 in Port Orchard, WA. The Sidney Art Gallery & Museum building is on the national and state historic registers.
