4. Palo Duro Canyon State Park
PEOPLE ARE SAYING:Mars & Ash FiteI was driving from Dallas to Denver and wanted a scenic place to stop along the way and found Palo Duro Canyon State Park about 40 minutes away from Amarillo. It was a little bit further than I was expecting, but definitely worth it. I believe they call it the little Grand Canyon, and it definitely was beautiful. Most of the park was closed unfortunately when we went due to hunting season, so we would love to return next time we are passing through. We were still able to do some really nice hikes and take in some gorgeous views of the canyon!
5. The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden

This meditative urban garden sits 15 feet below ground level and expressions of thanksgiving are found all around the square. The chapel of thanksgiving is the spiritual center of the square.The Glory Window contains one of the largest horizontally mounted stained glass windows in the world.

At night, the light creates the illusion that the structure is supported by light itself. The memorial stands as a tribute to the joy and excitement of his life.
